Polish-born coloratura soprano Kata Dondalska began her musical career at the age of five on the violin, and at 15 she began her vocal training.

After studying at the Conservatory in Olsztyn, the Bydgoszcz-born singer continued her training in Germany at the Hochschule für Musik in Würzburg. Encouraged and guided by her professors Grigori Zhislin (violin) and Jutta Bucelis-Dehn (voice), she completed her studies with a diploma - both subjects with distinction!

She was a finalist at well-known international competitions such as the ARD International Music Competition, the Cardiff Singer of the World Festival or the coloratura singing competition "Sylvia Geszty" in Luxembourg and achieved numerous prizes. In 2011, the Academy of Music in Gdansk awarded her a doctorate degree.

Among her parade roles are roles such as Mozart's "Queen of the Night" and "Konstanze," Strauss' "Zerbinetta," Stravinsky's and Braunfels' "Nightingale," Offenbach's "Olympia" and Rossini's "Rosina," which she has performed at such houses as Grand Opera Houston, the Welsh National Opera Cardiff, the Korean National Opera Seoul, the Teatro Colon Buenos Aires, the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, the Nationaltheater Mannheim, the Teatr Wielki Warsaw and many more.

International concert tours have taken her to well-known halls such as New York's Avery Fisher Concert Hall, Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, Washington's John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Chicago Music Hall, Toronto's John Bassett Theatre, Stockholm's Konzerthaus, Copenhagen's DR Koncerthuset, Brussels' Queen Elisabeth Hall, Frankfurt's Alte Oper, the Kö̈lner Philharmonie, Berlin's Philharmonie, Munich's Carl-Orff-Saal am Gasteig, and Berlin's Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt.

In the process, she has worked with orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Liverpool, the San Diego Symphony Orchestra, the WDR Radio Orchestra Cologne, the NDR Radio Symphony Orchestra Hanover, the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg, the BBC Orchestra London and artists such as Vasily Petrenko, Dennis Russell Davies, Roberto and Daniele Abbado, Carlo Rizzi, Edita Gruberowa, Francisco Araiza, Peter Falk, Michael Jurowski, Elmar Gunsch, Günter Wewel, Gunter Emmerlich, Barbara Bonney, Pete York or Lesley Garrett. She became known to the general public through TV and radio productions of ARD, BBC, RAI, SWR, BR, WDR, NDR, RBB.

Katarzyna Dondalska was awarded the title of "Warmia-Masuria Icon 2018" by Olsztyn's President Piotr Grzymowicz and Marshal Gustaw Marek Brzezina of the Warmia-Masuria Voivodeship for her exceptional artistic achievements at home and abroad.
