Andrzej Banachowicz

In 1973-1978, studies at the PWSSP in Poznań. Diplomas with distinction in prof. Jan Berdyszak’s Sculpture Studio and prof. Witold Gyurkovich’s Exhibition Design Studio. From 1992, he was the head of the 2nd Artistic Fabric Studio at the Faculty of Painting at the University of Arts in Poznań, currently at the Department of Sculpture and Spatial Activities at the University of Arts in Poznań. In 1996-1999 and 1999-2002 Vice-Rector for Arts and Research of the University of Arts in Poznań. Member of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Natural Fibers in Poznań and member of the Program Council of the Central Museum of Textiles in Lodz. A member of the Central Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles since 2013 (term of office for 2013-2016 and for 2017-2020). Since 2002, full professor at UAP. He creates in the field of broadly understood artistic fabric as well as objects made of sheet metal, clay, granite, shells, ceramics, glass, etc. The USA - 2003 - Visiting Professor: Slippery Rock University, Sculpture and Fabrics Workshop. Australia - 2008 - Participant - the only representative of Poland - Symposium ãTAPESTRY 2008: The Fine Art of Weaving”, organized by The Australian National University, School of Art, Canberra. Individual exhibitions and participation in many group exhibitions in the country and abroad. Works in domestic and foreign collections.
