​​Biography of Artist The artist Art Clay was born in New York and lives in Basel Switzerland. He is a specialist in the performance of self-created works with the use of Intermedia and has appeared at international festivals, on radio and television television in Europe, Asia & North America. His more recent output focuses on media based works, large performative works and spectacles using mobile device. Prizes have been awarded to him for music composition, performance, theatre, new media art and curation. For the last ten years, he has taught media and interactive arts at various Art Schools and Universities in Europe, NorthAmerica, and Asia including the University of the Arts in Zurich. He is the initiator and Artistic Director of the 'Digital Art Weeks' International, a festival founded on the ETH that serves as platform for trans-disciplinary research and education for the arts, the sciences, and culture. With the support of Pro Helvetia, he recently founded the festival “Virtuale Switzerland”, the world’s first bienalle for virtual arts, exploring arts using augmented reality, digital heritage and urban gaming.
