Biography
Zbigniew Szot was born in 1962 in Płoty in Western Pomerania. After graduating from Primary School, in 1976-1981 he attended the State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Szczecin. After completing his diploma and passing the matura exams, he continued his studies at the University of Fine Arts in Poznań. Diploma at the Faculty of Art Education, under the guidance of prof. Alicja Kępińska, and under prof. Wojciech MŸller’s guidance in 1986. In the same year he received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and Arts. Since 1988, he has been working at his home university. In 1988-1991 an assistant in the First Tapestry Studio of prof. Magdalena Abakanowicz, then prof. Anna Goebel, and since 1991 an assistant and since 1997 an assistant professor in prof. Jozef Drążkiewicz’s III Drawing Studio. In 2006 he took over the management of the 9th Drawing Studio at the Painting Department of the University of Fine Arts in Poznań. Post-doctoral degree since 2007. In 2008, he was appointed an associate professor at the University of Arts in Poznań. Titular professor since 2014. Participation in many exhibitions in the country and abroad. He organized and co-produced several dozen outdoor and television sets with Wojciech MŸller. In his work he deals with painting, digital graphics, drawings, spatial activities and stage design.
